Join us at Cub Scout Resident Camp! Cub Scout Resident Camp is the most fun and exciting Cub Scout summer program that the Northwest Suburban Council has to offer. Spend 3 nights at Camp Lakota, camping in your tent with the rest of your Pack. While you're there, go climbing, shoot BB guns, make a craft, learn about nature and Scout skills, go swimming, and much, much more! We add a themed program that allows Scouts to use their imaginations and immerse themselves in the world of the Old West.
Program
The Resident Camp program is designed to provide Scouts with an exciting outdoor program. Program areas may include sports, crafts, nature, Scout skills, and shooting sports. Scouts will rotate through these areas. Some schedules will differ depending on weather, and special activities. The Scouts will work as dens at each program area. Some program will include cape making where your scout will cutout and design his own super hero cape to wear for the weekend, Sports, games, and nature activities. Webelos will be able to work on Pins. Scouts will also be able to explore camp, hike our nature trails, or use this time to relax after a day of activities. different activities badges throughout with weekend. Scouts will also have opportunities to work on quiet time program where they can work on requirements for BB, Archery, and Fishing Pins. Trading Post
The Trading Post is your one-stop shop for all things Cub Scouting! The "Post" will stock Cub Scout items, camping supplies, camp sundries, T-shirts, camp souvenirs, beverages, and snacks.
T-Shirts
You may pre-order your 2012 Resident Camp T-shirt at the discounted price. These will be ready for you when you arrive at camp. A limited supply of these shirts will be available for purchase at camp. Unless you pre-order, we cannot guarantee availability.
Meal Services
Meals are served starting with Cracker Barrel the day you arrive and ending with breakfast on the day you leave. Food is provided by the camp, and meals are served under a large tent. Your day of arrival is an excellent time to cook out on your own in your campsite, but we recommend that you check in at 4:00 p.m. in order to allow yourself enough time to set up and have dinner before the evening’s events begin. The menu for Resident Camp is planned as much as possible to avoid many common food allergies and dietary concerns. However, it is near impossible to plan for every possible issue. If you or your son has any dietary concerns that we should be aware of, please list them on your registration form.
Arrival & Departure
Camp will be ready to check your registration and welcome you beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. Program ends at 9:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
